Day 1: Port Elizabeth, South Africa

I awoke to a cloudless, spectacular day on the Eastern-most shore of South Africa, with its lush greenery, palm trees, and colorful birds. The small, mushy waves mean no surfing for me today, sadly. I'll spend the day visiting the University and PE Museum as I await the arrival tomorrow of the other 100 Enduro Africa riders.

I am here.

How appropriate that you're in Port Elizabeth! Sorry about not being able to surf. =(

And it's as beautiful as its name sake! Again, no surf in this morning's low tide. But scores of dolphin, including a grouping just 5 - 10 yards out playing in the shore break. Tempting to jump in and just swim with the animals ... if only the water were warmer than the 50s.

Whales and dolphins? That must be SO COOL!!! And I can't believe that you are letting a little thing like the temperature of the water stop you!
